Daddy Dale said it best while he was payin’ his dues

The winner’s not the fastest, NO! he just refuses to lose.

For those of us kickkin’ around in our SUV’s

We feelin’ the same in our neighborhood streets.

I just clocked out from the job, I’m all covered in paint

So I can get down the road, to catch my NASCAR today!

Had to dodge all the traffic, passing everyone on my right

so I wouldn’t miss the driver interviews and Blue Angels’ in flight

A crash brings out the yellow, then we get back to green

Sitting here with a beer in my hand, sure beats where I’ve been…

Like building the cars on the assembly line,

So I can get it down the road, with my NASCAR on my mind

We can’t wait to get home or to the nearest pub

to watch those guys tame 185, just for the fun.

We sport our top driver’s number on our head and our chest

To see them racing down the track, driving fast and turning left

A true fan feels it real, as drivers bump & they grind

At the edge of our seat as they cross the checkered line

They’re poppin’ champagne, we’re screaming out loud

We’ve met our need for speed and that’s what NASCAR’s all about!

Daddy Dale said it best while he was payin’ his dues

The winner’s not the fastest, NO! he just refuses to lose.
